The KTS 4.5MM Tungsten Tire Repair File is a professional-grade rotary burr engineered for fast, precise tire repair and surface preparation. Manufactured from 100% raw tungsten carbide with a hardness of HRA 89–92.5, it delivers exceptional cutting performance, extended service life, and reliable results across demanding workshop environments.

The speed at which you use your carbide burr in a rotary tool depends on the material being worked and the contour being produced. It is safe to say you do not need to exceed speeds of 35,000 RPM. The table below shows approximate recommended speeds.

As with all drill bits and burrs, let the tool do the work. Apply only a little pressure; otherwise the cutting edges of the flutes will chip away or become smooth too quickly, reducing the life of your burr.

When using your carbide burr, avoid keeping it still for too long. A stationary burr can dig and jab into the material, causing unsightly marks and roughness.
